Temporary Leverage Adjustment During Weekend Market Transitions

Published on: August 5, 2026

Effective Friday, 7th of August, M4Markets will implement a temporary leverage adjustment during specific periods surrounding the weekend market transition.

This measure has been introduced as part of our ongoing commitment to prudent risk management and is designed to help mitigate the risks associated with weekend price gaps, reduced liquidity, and heightened market volatility.

Adjustment Schedule

The temporary leverage adjustment will apply during the following periods:

  • 15 minutes before the market closes on Friday
  • 15 minutes after the market opens on Monday

Please note that market opening and closing times are determined according to M4Markets Server Time (GMT+2 / GMT+3 DST) and may vary depending on the trading hours of each financial instrument.

What to Expect

During these periods:

  1. Reduced leverage may be applied to any or all financial instruments at the Company's discretion.
  2. The Company may modify order execution parameters where necessary.
  3. The placement of new orders, including Pending Orders, may be restricted.
  4. Existing orders may be cancelled if required to maintain orderly market conditions and protect market integrity.

Once the restricted periods have ended, your account's standard leverage will be automatically restored, subject to prevailing market liquidity and risk conditions.

Terms & Conditions Update

These changes have been incorporated into our Terms & Conditions under Section 11 – Leverage Adjustment.

As always, M4Markets reserves the right to amend the applicable leverage levels, affected instruments, or the duration of the adjustment period where market conditions, liquidity, volatility, or risk management considerations require.
